Dutch words and phrases go over 10,000

Submitted by admin on 14 December 2020

I am pleased to report that the number of Dutch entries (words, phrases, dialogues) has this week gone over the 10,000 mark.

Dutch statistics

This is the first of the languages to do so, and marks an important milestone.

Basically, the more words and phrases which there are included, the better it is for students to be able to go way beyond the beginner levels.

Is there a way to skip forward to the more advanced material?

If you already know some of the language, you'll be pleased to know that, yes, there is a way to skip forward to the more advanced material.

If you feel you have skipped forwards too far, you can always set things back, either by a particular lesson or everything. See:

Adding a Literal Breakdown to a phrase

Submitted by admin on 23 May 2020

We link a phrase to all the words in that phrase. This is known as the Literal Breakdown, because it links to each of the words in the literal translation.

For example, if the phrase is "cinq chiens" (five dogs in French), then you would link to the entries for "cinq" (five) and for "chiens" (dogs).

Note that you must already have created the entries for each of the words in the phrase before you can link to them! So, if you have words in the phrase which do not yet exist in Lingopolo, you will first need to create them.
