	That’s how it arrived at the great swamp, where the wild ducks lived.	Zo kwam het aan het grote moeras, waar de wilde eenden woonden.
	There was a knock at the city gate, and the old king went to open it.	Daar werd er op de stadspoort geklopt, en de oude koning ging er heen, om haar open te doen.
	And so it stayed motionless, while the hail whirled through the reeds and one shot after another banged	En zo bleef het roerloos liggen, terwijl de hagel door het riet snorde en er schot op schot knalde.

	First later on the day it became quiet; but the poor duckling did not dare to get up yet; it waited several hours more, before it turned around, and then it rushed out of the swamp as fast as it could.
