Notes
To say "not" in French, we use "ne" (as part 1) and pas (as part 2), making together ne pas. These two words are usually split up, with other words in between. For example, ne connait pas (doesn’t know), Le chauffeur ne connait pas la route. (The driver doesn’t know the road).
This word "ne" is also used for other negative forms, e.g. ne rien (nothing), ne jamais (never), ne plus (no longer).
