Translations the wrong way around

Submitted by admin on 24 February 2026

It sometimes happens that the automatic creation process gets the translations completely the wrong way around. It fortunately doesn't happen very often, but when it does, the system will think every word in the literal breakdown does not exist yet, and it will create it.

For example, below you will see the German column full of English (and the English column is full of German):

In this second example, you will see again that the English column is full of German words and the German column is full of English words:

When you drill down to the words you will see that the word at the top of the page is not in English, as it usually is, but is in the opposite language. Indeed, you will hear the generated audio pronounces the English word as if it were a foreign word, in the accent of the target language.

The page below should say:

"tour guide" in German

Reiseführer

There is nothing to do but to delete all of these reversed entries.

Usually the automatic process will get these entries correct the next time.
