"single bed" in Thai

In Thai there is no distinction between the word for a single bed or a double bed; they are both basically a single, solitary bed (as opposed to twin beds). The bed is one bed, rather than a bed for one person. Hence, whatever the size of the bed (single, double, king size), in Thai it is still one bed. In a hotel you would always be given a double bed unless you specifically asked say, for a bed for a child, in which case you would get a single bed. If you want to make a distinction you can talk about a large or small bed.
